Yaho! Bing Bang Boom! Those weren’t just words used to describe the exciting PUBG Continental Series 6 (PCS6) Americas NA Regional Playoff, but also happen to be the two teams tied at the top of the leaderboard. An explosive celebration played out all weekend as 24 of the best teams on the continent battled it out for a spot in the PCS6 Americas Grand Final. When the smoke cleared,6 teams were heading to the Grand Final while the next 8 have another chance to compete for the remaining 4 spots this weekend in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). Let’s relive the weekend and recap how we got here.
The PCS6 North America Regional Playoff began with Groups A and B. Yaho started the day strong with a Chicken Dinner and 11 Kills, and led during mid-day with 45 Total Points. But then, everything changed when we went to Miramar.
Once in Miramar, it was Gascans’ game, as the team went on to get 39 kills and 2 Chicken Dinners during the second half of the day. They would end the day with 93 total points, the single-day highest points scored by any team during the Regional Playoff.
Groups B and C took to the battleground with Group B pressured to score high in order to ensure their spot after a whole day of matches without them. But Group C wasn’t about to make it easy for them. Bing Bang Boom had a match for the ages, holding the Quarry and getting a 20 Kill Chicken Dinner in Match 3, scoring a total of 30 points and jumping to the number 8 spot by mid-day.
Gascans still held the top spot by one point after mid-day even though they didn’t even play on Day 2, with Shoot To Kill right behind them and feeling the pressure to add points to not only take the lead, but ensure their spot in the Grand Final. Despite Nootropics, Soniqs, and Bing Bang Boom going on to take the final 3 matches of the day, Shoot to Kill played valiantly every match and ended the day at the top.
Groups A and C closed out the final day of the NA Regional Playoff. Gascans had a solid second-place standing and all points would only help keep their Grand Final ticket punched. However, Yaho came out of the gates on fire with an 18 kill Chicken Dinner to start the day. They then went into halftime with an 11 Kill Chicken Dinner in Match 3.
Despite no Chicken Dinners, Bing Bang Boom and Gascans mirrored one another in all point categories, creating a 3-way tie at the top spot with Shoot To Kill. However, ESL PUBG Masters Americas Champion eUnited found their groove in the second half, winning the final 2 matches of the day and jumping into 3rd place. eUnited prevented Bing Bang Boom and Gascans from running away with points, but could not stop Yaho and Bing Bang Boom from taking the top 2 spots.
Teams Yaho, Bing Bang Boom, Gascans, eUnited, Shoot To Kill, and Three Hundred will be going to the PCS6 Americas Grand Final and are taking home the largest shares of the $25,000 USD Prize money. They will also have a week off to rest and prepare.
In the meantime Soniqs, Spicy Fish, Built By Gamers, Nootropic, Wildcard Gaming, The Rumblers, Dodge, and 4 Funners will have another chance at a spot in the Grand Final this weekend in the PCS6 Americas LCQ. There they will face off against 8 teams from the PCS6 LATAM Regional Playoff for the final 4 spots in the Grand Final.
PCS6 Americas LCQ begins Friday, March 25, 2022, at 4 PM PDT on Twitch.
