PUBG Esports Americas – Midseason Power Rankings Pt. 1

Coverage

by PUBG Esports

The second edition of the PUBG Nations Cup and the PUBG Continental Series 6 Grand Final have officially concluded. While only one of those events will truly help us narrow down the talent within North and Latin America, both give us vital data.

Every bit of information helps us find out who are the best players – and who makes up the best squad – in PUBG Esports within the Americas.

ESL PUBG Masters Americas Phase 2 is the next big tournament on the horizon and we’ve got some power rankings to tide you over until the action kicks off on July 6th. Let’s break down where all these teams stand, with the help of new data and observations, before they face off against one another in ESL PUBG Masters Americas Phase 2 and PUBG Continental Series 7 later this year .

16. Yellow Jackets

The Yellow Jackets scraped by in order to get into the PUBG Continental Series 6 Grand Final only to come up short when it mattered most. The team of Brazilians and one Bolivian finished in last place when up against talent from North America. Hopefully they’ll take the experience earned from that series and take it into future tournaments.

15. Just 2 Easy

Just 2 Easy grabbed the last Grand Final-qualifying spot in the Latin American Regional Final right behind the Yellow Jackets. They managed to outpace their fellow Latin American competitors in the Grand Final, although this team is on the same level as those wasps in the grand PUBG scheme of things.

14. AKM Gaming

AKM Gaming is a little more than a hop down the standings from Just 2 Easy and the Yellow Jackets. This team of Argentinians managed to break the 100 point threshold at the PUBG Continental Series Americas 6 Grand Final, which is a near 30 point gap over the next team down the standings. After finishing 4th in the Latin American Regional Final this seems like right where AKM Gaming is supposed to be. Martin “mArtins4n” Castillo also played for Team Argentina at the PUBG Nations Cup as well, landing in the middle of the pack with an 8th place finish.

13. Nootropic

After finishing third in the PCS6 Americas Last Chance Qualifier, Nootropic came in at 11th place during the Grand Final. This squad showed improvement between the first and second weeks of play. Emmet “Lampalot” Homeister and company will hopefully be back and ready to get in the ring with other North American teams during PCS7. They’ll need to show that they can survive before getting knocked into a Last Chance Qualifier next time.

12. Dodge

Winning the Last Chance Qualifier without a single chicken dinner wasn’t enough to propel Dodge to Grand Final glory. This North American squad was able to secure a single chicken dinner during the Grand Final, which proved that they have the ability to get over the hump when it matters most. Brandon “f1nna” Finskars’ time with Team Canada at the PUBG Nations Cup should add to his wide range of major tournament experience going forward as well.

11. Trogloditas

Even though A Creche blew the competition out of the water in the Latin American Regional Playoff, the Trogloditas proved that they could roll with the punches and adapt by placing 10th in the Grand Final. Their placement was the second highest placement earned by a Latin American squad – which is something this team should be proud of.

Editors Note:  These Power Rankings are created and determined by one individual’s subjective observations and review of the competition data.  They do not reflect the view of Krafton and/or PUBG Esports.
